About Culture Ways
Understanding culture. Building connection.
Feeling at home in a new culture takes more than knowing where to go or what to say. It takes understanding the expectations, values, and everyday interactions that shape relationships.
Culture Ways helps people approach those differences with curiosity, respect, and confidence—so they can thrive in Rwanda and beyond.
Learning together
Culture Ways creates space to reflect on our own assumptions, ask thoughtful questions, and practice new ways of communicating and connecting.
Whether you are preparing for your first visit to Rwanda, making a new home, welcoming international guests, or working across cultures, our aim is to help you move forward with greater understanding.
Why we do this
You can care deeply about people and still misunderstand one another. A conversation that seems straightforward to one person can leave another feeling unheard. Expectations around time, trust, communication, or decision-making may be very different from your own.
We believe these moments are opportunities to learn. With the right questions and practical tools, people can navigate differences with more confidence and build relationships with greater care.
How we approach learning
Begin with curiosity
Notice your assumptions. Ask thoughtful questions. Make room for another person's perspective before drawing conclusions.
Keep people at the center
Cultural patterns provide context, but they do not tell you everything about an individual. We encourage learners to listen to the person in front of them.
Put understanding into practice
Connect what you learn to everyday conversations, relationships, workplaces, and partnerships. Small changes in how you listen and respond can make a meaningful difference.
